In 1939, Jim Rayburn, a young youth group leader and also a student at a theological seminary in Gainesvile, Texas, encouraged by a local clergyman, took on a daunting challenge - he was to look at the local high school as his parish and figure out a way to build relationships with the local youth, completely uninterested in the Church.

YOUNG LIFE POLAND TAKES OFF
It all started in Poznan, where Kristyna, a Czech woman involved in YL, came to visit.
Through building new relationships, spending time together, conversations and trips, Young Life Poznań began its work. Today we function in Poznan, Warsaw, Gdansk and Lusowo, and confirmation preparation meetings together with YL are conducted in 6 cities. Currently Young Life Poland is co-founded by 9 employees and about 80 leaders and volunteers.
